Hello there people of the Forest!
My name is Summer and I am joining you all for the first time this year! Very exciting for me, this will be my first festival EVER and what a great choice did I make for that? The best! Anyway, at the moment I am living in Austin, Texas... However, I may or may not be living in Traverse City, Michigan by the time Electric Forest rolls around. I am turning 22 in March(How super awesome?!), I feel like I've been preparing for the festival life since I was born. The concept of festivals started off as whispers in the wind, a handful of adults would speak of them(Burning Man) in my presence, but I did not really know what they actually were. Then, I moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2005 with my mother (Which was just in time for me to start high school)... And because of that beautiful place, I began to have my mind opened to new things, I was however, always about sharing the love... I got into "EDM" at some point in high school because of my love for 90's music (always and forever) which led me to DDR (Cartoon Hero's Aqua remix, is what got me), which eventually led me to "EDM". Then I went to my first "rave"(Or as I call them, Electronic Dance Music Concerts) in 2009, at first I thought I had finally found something worth going to... I had heard so many things about how raves have good vibes and are all about love and all that jazz... I had heard about "PLUR" and I thought it was such a wonderful thing! I had always lived my way like that, now I had a way to describe my lifestyle... Then, I realized how two faced ravers were, I have only been to a handful and every time I feel like one of the most "PLUR" people there. How sad is that? Very sad in my personal opinion....
Anyway, I have heard much better things about the festival life and it honestly seems like the place for me to be. Sharing experiences with other beautiful people, learning with them, dancing with them, creating with them, just truly existing with them for multiple days.... Creating new bonds with people that live hundreds of miles away from you, from what I've heard it actually is like a family... That's exactly what I want! I recently added more to my "what I want to do with my life" recently! Before, it was just "To be happy and have fun", but the other day I came upon an extension to that. The added part is "To share beauty with the world into my last days and never stop, even after death." I truly think that you(festies), are a good chunk of the people that are going to help me with my life goals.
 Anyway, I ended up ranting on here, I apologize. . .
I love you all already and I can't WAIT to see you all in the forest.

My name is Kayleigh and this is my first festival ever as well and actually my first post on infobury. When you said you may be moving to Traverse City I had to respond, I live in TC and it is a great place to live so you should seriously give it a try!:) Anyway don't want to sound like a stalker just wanted to put a word in for TC.

I can't wait either! I get more and more excited every single day! it's lovely to meet you Kayleigh! We can totes mcgoats be best forest friends and then just be friends because we'll be living in the same town! I'll for sure need some! What kinds of cool things are there to do in TC? I mean, I hear it's not really for college age people, is that true? I have no idea what to expect! haha

Consider us rage mates :D! Not for college kids?! That's a bunch of non sense, you just got to know where to look and what to do, I'll show you around for sure. For one thing it has the most awesome places to explore! Once you experience a Traverse City summer you will never go back. It's pretty awesome :)

This may sound dumb, but what does PLUR stand for? Alls I can think is like Peace, Love, Unity, Rage? I dont know lol. This will be my first time going to Electric Forest, I am super stoked. I have been to many other festivals before this... the biggest is Summer Camp, been there twice... then some smaller festivals.. Bisco, Moe.Down.. Let me tell you guys who have never been to a festival before... it is the most eye opening, best, fantastical, amazing, greatest experience ever. lol. The first festival I went to was small, it was Moe.down like five summers ago... I went with my boyfriend and two other guys... i remember getting there and i was just so overwhelmed (but in a good way) with everything going on around me. I just couldn't believe that so many people could come together and pop up a little town for a couple days and enjoy life so much. It is just such a great experience, i just can't explain it. You guys are going to have a blast, and I think electric forest is going to be amazing. I have wanted to come here for so long, just for the forest.... the forest alone looks so magical. I cannot wait. Hopefully we'll run into each other some how somewhere along our way in the forest!!
