 Lineup Sneak Peak
« Thread Started on Jan 31, 2013, 8:13am »

Hello Rothbury,
I've used this site as a viewer for a number of years to stay connected with the spirit of the forest. It's been rather quiet this year, so I decided it was a good time for my first... and last post ever. The future is bright my friends! For being so loyal throughout the years, I'm going to reward you infoburies with a sneak peak into which artists are currently in booking discussions with EFF. I know you will want confirmation, but I can't disclose the source of this leak, as the magicians at mad house are keeping things tight under wraps this year. It's going to be a very big year in Rothbury, that is for sure! If an artist is on this list that means they've been contacted by the festival. Only SCI, Mad House, and PL Music artists are official. (BONUS GOODIE*** The SCI boys are unsure how long they want to stay involved, and this may be their last year in the forest. They've discussed passing the baton along to the folks in Boulder over at PL Music, and have some pretty interesting collaborative ideas for this year! (BONUS BONUS GOODIE***** The plan was always for Loren to take over the fest, but after the fiasco his bassheads caused last year the SCI boys nixed that idea, and want to keep this sacred fest safe in Colorado hands))

Enjoy!

I'm new to the boards, so not one of the loyal you posted this for, but thank you very much for the sneak peek :) I'm glad to see Paper Diamond on this list.

The lack of mentioning insomniac and no conspirator give me doubts.

Lots of spelling errors...but a real nice list. If it proves to be false someone had a lot of time on their hands to cook this list up haha

It's logical, but I have my doubts. Seems a little too good to be true.

If Freddie Gibbs, Riff Raff, Lotus, Cheese and Beardyman are all there, I'll see your ass at the forest in june.

but until then i'm gonna maintain my skepticism

I really hope the part about it being Cheese's last year isn't true :( but if Lotus is there I'll be happy.

Also, what's the fiasco OP is referring to? When all the Bassnectar fans rushed the stage during SCI's finale? Or did something else happen?

I have a really hard time believing that SCI and Lorin have such a strong rapport, to the point where they are ready to hand over the proverbial reins to their gem of a festival (lets be honest Double JJ ranch is one of the best venues in the country) is blemished by some unruly bassheads sitting in the fron row waiting for SCI to end. It's one thing to see a direction a fest is headed and want to nip it in the butt right away (which is what I think they are doing by giving Lorin a year off). But to change their mind on handing over the fest based on some kids sitting in the front row, please. I can't tell if you're frequent spelling errors give/take credabillity to/away from your post. And leaving out Insomniac all together makes me a skeptic. With aallllll that being said I am pretty happy about that lineup. Though seeing skrillex on there again makes me wince (worse crowd than Nectar in my eyes). And the overall absence of Bob Weir hurts my sould. A lot too look forward to if this is even close to true! I was expecting a big name Jam band though (Umphreys isn't jam they are literally an alt rock band with a light show, and aren't worth the price of admission to any of their shows).

Not buying it.

Anyone else remember a few years back, this guy supposedly knew the lineup and released it in a slow drip, via band photos in a thread. He too was scouts honor, to the wall, swearing he was in the know and honest.

Proved to be false.

This is likely the case again.

-if that is all that they have CONTACTED then this list is most likely bogus. I would of expected some other names to be at the very least contacted.

-if this is SCI's last year, then I am glad I am going

-if this is SCI's last year, then it will be my last year as well

-I was hoping for not a big name jam band and more alt rock (like Umphreys) because someone like Bob Weir isn't worth the price of admission, even if its free.
(see what I did there??)

EDIT: congrats on getting people talking though
