ok well I read all 4 pages of this and without all the negativity, bullshit and assuming I know about this place would someone be so kind to tell me what exactly is so bad/wrong about it and all of the issues(law)/horror stories people have had in the past ?
Would be much appreciated! I went to Rothbury in 08 and E.Forest 2012, can't wait to go back this year. I personally have never heard of this place...I remember something about Lake Lucy in 08 but I thought Rothbury had VIP options there?
Anyways a good friend stayed there last year and said it was awesome and totally worth it. Right from the start I felt weird about not doing GA and reading this only confirms my decision to stick with the norm, but I am very curious....THANKS!

It would only take a second to give me some main points and some facts about what actually happened over the years that was soooooo bad. it's an attitude and responses like that which made this thread go south in the first place. geez...

Interesting read. I didnt see this last summer. I almost tried out the camping place. I liked the idea of going for a swim in the morning to cool off and relax. we ended up not doing it cause we didnt wana spend our money. people on here really seem to HATE it a lot. I dont see whats wrong having a camping thing going on next to EFF. give people other options. That being said i dont know all the "history" everyone keeps talking about. Also, people that just sit at the campsite all day and then go in at 8pm all fucked up suck. Those are prolly a lot of those people that were being asshates last year.

I appreciate the link and I really do, but I could not get past the second page I am sorry. After reading 4 pages of this thread all the BS and "assumed truths" gave me a headache. Bottom line is I won't be doing it anyways because everyone who made the point of "why would you pay extra $ for camping on top of a festival tic that includes camping is right" ...I guess I just wanted the bullet point of the facts in the history of this horror story, but no worries, lets move on.
I personally cannot wait for LOTUS to grace the EF stage again this year. They were surely missed last year!!

Where's all the misinformation from? It was fine....it has a lake...bathrooms...showers... It wasn't an easy-bake oven... What a nice respite from blazing sun and drought! There was extra music. I thought it was worth it. Stayed at both (back-n-forth)
Is this some kinda EFF greed/monopoly thing?

No. It's a long history with a greedy neighbor. By staying at LL you support him, not EFF.
It's your choice. But if you care about the festival, it should be an easy one.

not trying to take sides, but how is staying at this other place not supporting eff?
You still buy your ticket to EFF so your still paying to technically be able to camp there....You still pay just as much as everyone else. You just decided to blow money on some other crap.
I bet you will still get hungry while your in the EFF venue and buy one of those god awful slices of pizza.
sure these other people might be a greedy but if they wana throw a party next door thats their deal, EFF is making money. They are charging WAY more then they need to for a festival that is having tons of DJs which cost a lot less then having a fest with tons of bands with lots of members and crew that set stuff up.

Good thing I am red/green color blind because I have a feeling I wouldn't want to read this anyway.
lol... ok joking aside ..... I just have personally seen how the people who RUN BCO conduct themselves online over the years and it has shown me that they are no one I want to associate with.

Don McCormick is a dick cheese and a thorn in the ass of of the producers of Rothbury and then EFF. HE even had to be delivered a C&D becuase he isn't smart enough to name his crap ass event properly.
Hes a major leauge douche that used to come on these boards. Pumped money into his land thinking he could force the promoters to use "lucky lake" and had an epic melt when they said no and didn't bring rothbury back. So he was sponging (great) but when the music stopped he cried like a little bitch as if he was entitled to have AEG come and lose money on his behalf.
ME personally? Ass wipe went to the Township and put the kybosh on a land purchase I was about to make on water road so I could stay somewhere nice. The seller was very very ill, possibly terminally. It was a win win. Dumny made sure that I couldn't have more than SEVEN friends or some dumb shit on SEVEN ACRES with a house that backed up to the Odeum. And no, my land wasn't for profit... just a place to throw the right party. The old, now dead owner of the Double JJ and Stein cam in with a lowball and the neighbor bought it for $1 over my offer... so at least the seller got to move to the UP to live out his days. Hope hes still doing well.
So he claims HE has the rights to do these thing but I didn'.t Hes a douche. Fuck him.
There's your history lesson.

Man.. 6 months later and this is still going on?
I figured that shithole BCO would have closed down. Regardless, we all know the truth about Don and BCO... so lets just let it go. This thread stands as a reminder to people about the truth about BCO.. they can read the entire thread when they search their name on google.. it leads you right to this thread.

I don't think we have anything to fear about a return of BCO.
From the Lucky Lake events page--
"Stay tuned for further information on this event. Un-like last year, expect Lucky Lake Campground to be a place of peace and quiet."

two things:
1. We all know BCO is a crock of shit. If you go to the fest, you camp at the fest. WTF! 2. Wong-ta-now-a spits truth.
